Where Place and the Craft of Writing Intersect
The Milk House and NatureCulture have partnered to organize a writing and artist retreat in the seaside village of Doolin, Ireland in summer 2025. Enjoy comprehensive workshops in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and photography led by acclaimed Irish artists. At the same time, learn about the unique cultural heritage and geological aspects of the surrounding landscape, including The Burren (designated by the European Union as a Special Area of Conservation) and the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher.
Participants will also have the option of being published in an anthology alongside local Irish writers.

The retreat is surrounded by the limestone landscape of The Burren, designated a Special Area of Conservation by the EU.
With flora and fauna not found anywhere else, The Burren is one of the most unique ecosystems in the world.
